‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum’ distribution and diversity in Scotland and the characterisation of novel haplotypes from Craspedolepta spp. (Psyllidae: Aphalaridae) (2020)

This research paper, published by the CALIBER project team, describes the use of real time PCR and DNA barcoding techniques to assess the diversity and distribution of Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (Lso) bacterium and their insect vectors. Sampling in carrot and parsnip fields in East and Central Scotland, they found new genetic variants, infected but assymptomatic plants, and infected insects.
